A knock on the door told me it was 7:30 AM, a wake up call from Hams. Mass is at 9:00 AM and we have to leave at 8:30 because Hams is a member of the church choir. I have enough time to shower, dress and pack for New York. I don't know how I'll fit everything in my bag sent to me from the Philippines, but I'll try. Thank you everyone for the long and short sleeve shirts, slippers, various food preparations and enhancements, polo shirts and T-Shirts. You know who you are.
I have plans to leave New Jersey right after Mass because of what Kyle told me last night. The last time the weather forecasters predicted "show showers", we got 6 inches of snow. A few years back when they predicted "passing showers", parts of NYC subway system flooded, my roof leaked and I had to buy new carpeting.
The train to Penn Station was packed, I almost didn't get a seat if not for my super fast, seat grabbing technique. The fact that the train was packed, was another sign that people didn't believe "snow showers" like me.
When I got to Penn Station, there was no E train service, my train. Fortunately, it was just a partial service disruption and I could catch the train at Queens Plaza. It was good that I didn't know about the service disruption, otherwise, I would have not been able to ride a 1940/s NYC subway train. They were using this museum piece to shuttle people to Queens Plaza. What a treat! Here, take a look outside.
Here is my shots inside:
By the time I got off the bus in Rosedale, Brookville Park (park beside me) was looking this way:
Here is how it looked outside my window:
That's a lesson on weather forecasting. Snow showers my foot!
